New Stargate Series to be Shot in London, England

Indeed, as the creative team behind the new Stargate series has convened to bring the creative elements to life, more information regarding the show has become known. Specifically, we now know that the show will be shot in London, England for its main stages though the series will be shot throughout the globe.

It’s obvious that this series has a higher budget as with the previous Stargate series, much of it was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. Yet, with this show the fact that they will be setting across the globe clearly points to more funds to allocate for production and travel related expenses for the cast and crew.

Production for the show will not begin till September and as such fans should not expect for the show to debut until well into 2027. Last year creator, Martin Gero said to GateWorld, “We’re starting the writers’ room on the other side of the year. These things take about two years, give or take. It might be a little shorter, it might be a little longer—hopefully it’s not longer. Just to set everybody’s expectations, it’s going to be a minute

Longtime Stargate producer Joseph Mallozzi has noted that the writer’s room is in full swing with the staff formulating character arcs, breaking stories, and determining who will write each script.

Mallozzi has been documenting the experience in the writer’s room thus far highlighting the supportive, collaborative and cohesive environment.

“I’m enjoying L.A. a lot more than I thought I would,” Mallozzi updated fans on his personal blog, “and a lot of that has to do with the writers’ room.  There are 10 of us in all—seven writers (including Martin and myself) and three support staff whose ideas and input are encouraged.  The vibe is fun, relaxed, and collaborative, devoid of egos, kooks and that one guy who always laments, ‘I was just about to say that!’ every time someone comes up with a good idea.  Rather than being competitive, it’s overwhelmingly supportive and just a very positive environment.  Also, we’re not working crazy hours.”
