Science Fact of the Month-March 2009

Below is one of the measures which should be observed when cooking steak in order to increase  the rate of reaction or to make the process go faster

In order to increase the rate of reaction, you would maximize the heat in order to speed the cooking process. The process would speed up   because  the  average speed of the molecules increases and causes  the molecules to move faster and make more effective collisions in which  chemical bonds are broken and new molecules form to speed the rate of reaction.

Science Fact of the Month January 2009

Heterogeneous  mixtures are mixtures which all the particles and parts are clearly visible in the substance. These mixtures are everywhere.A pizza is a heterogeneous mixture because you can see the different parts/ingredients which it is comprised of[e.g cheese, pepper, tomatoes, sauce, and  crust]

What other heterogeneous mixtures can you identify/think of?Share  them! Our site goal is  for each reader/visitor to post at least one mixture in order to have a hundred different items.Readers/visitors are encouraged to post a brief explanation with regards  to how the item is a heterogeneous mixture.

This  event allows for readers to explore this area of Science  in a fun and exciting manner. We  can promote Science by showing off what we know!

We will evaluate the number of participants by February 24 2009.

Lets get submitting!
